The House itself has a residents

art works.
Breakfasts at Cardynham House are a special occasion and include a traditional individually prepared English breakfast, American
pancakes and porridge.

Cardynham House also has had many interesting visitors, but perhaps the one of most note was Adam Smith in the 18th Century. Adam Smith visited Painswick and stayed at Cardynham House before he wrote his book "The Wealth of Nations". It has been suggested that he observed the working mills on the Painswick Stream and noted that one had a rudimentary production line in place and that from this he developed his ideas on more efficient producers driving less efficient producers from business.
